Well most of the Crimean Tatar villages in Turkey speak the Çöl dialect, so my guess is that they make up the majority.

Fair enough, I wonder why they make up majority though.

This is getting out of control. No insults please.

Some Alevi Kurds seem to have some Turkish ancestry (not sure if it's recent Turkish or medieval Turcoman), but people are free to identify themselves whatever way they want.

eh? you tatar? to me, it couldnt be any more surprised. you then have amazing responsibility if you in any way belong such special group of people. special because of the all individuals i know so far in your country. any chance you grew out side turkey or without tatars around? interesting, that i never read your words assuming you are one and one with kings in head.. and you say steppe tatar -- you mean cuman (not oghuz influenced) speaker crimean nogai tatar that lived in north/north e (who are different from kazakh-nogai mix in the east who long ago lost the cuman dialect)? so west ones like the famous actor in turkey and like families some of which was absorbed in some caucasians and romanian tatars? i never personally saw one from south east of within crimea or steppe yet in turkey .i didnt ask every one but the ones i asked came from south west of within peninsula though -- according to what they told.

Yes I mean Nogai/Steppe Tatars of Crimea.

Most Crimean villages in Turkey are Kipchak speakers, I think majority of Çöl Tatars were settled in rural areas (especially in Eskişehir and Ankara/Polatlı) while others (including Yalıboylu etc) were absorbed into urban society, this might be the reason that Çöl Tatars are overrepresented among the Crimean community of Turkey. That is why Turks tend to call those with unusual/strong mongoloid features "Tatar", although not all Crimean Tatars possess these traits.

Huh? Many Tatars (if not most) came from the Balkans. The Balkans (Dobruja) was a gathering point for those who fled from the Khanate's lands between the 17th and 19th centuries. It is not that easy for Crimean immigrants to know which part of peninsula their ancestors came from, Crimean migration to Anatolia was a slow, gradual process rather than direct migration.

I have been to Bari ,Brindisi , Pompeii , Sicily in the South and wanted to shout " I am Spartacus " all the time .

My favorite place is Trento Alto Adige / Tuscany ; I totally felt home while feasting on Alps .

If I move back to Europe ; I would totally go for Italy .
