I dont know who was his father, but his mother was Schwarze Meer Deutsche
By documents he was adopted from the side of his stepfather
I have no data to dig deeper by documentation about paternal line
He was born on nazi occupied territory in USSR

I Suppose that his dad Was scando shifted germanic(Baltic Swede/German or something like that)
All i know that his dad knew russian like his spouse

What i know about him(ggfather) that he was russian speaking germanic
maybe he was from gammelsvenskby or baltic swede who joined german armed forces

The likelyhood of an ethnic German compared to an ethnic Swede is kind of 99.9% vs. 0.1%. There's zero indication of a Swede. I have zero Scandinavian ancestry and do get 29% "Sweden & Denmark" at AncestryDNA and my Northern German wife even gets 50% "Sweden & Denmark" and "Norway" in sum at AncestryDNA. She also has no Scandinavian ancestry, let alone in such proportions.
Maybe you once find a close match for your grandfather if you upload him to the various platforms (FTDNA, MyHeritage, GEDmatch).
