Historically and culturally speaking: Portugal, Angola and Cape Verde
Parallels to other Latin American nations in terms of Genetics ?:
North Region of Brazil: Venezuela
Northeast Region: Puerto Rico
(Bonus/State of Bahia/Salvador: Dominican Republic)
Southeast Region: Cuba
Central Region: Puerto Rico
South Region: Uruguay
This is not accounting other minority groups in the regions just and average of the gene pool of those places based on studies and results for the majority living there and what other country comes close to resembling that region genetically.
Another thing is Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Dominican Republic didn’t receive a major Italian wave of immigration(ehh maybe Venezuela a bit but I digress) nor Portuguese influence which are fundamental in how similar to Brazil they are since they main European component in these areas is Spanish stock they’re only similar due to all of them being of Southern European stock, especially since Portugal borders Spain.

This last part of your text was to important to clarify while the similar afro/euro/amerindian genetic profile, the euro input of brazilian regions is way more pan euro compared with those countries which are heavily iberian on their european side. For example, there are cities with 150.000 people where a good chunk of the people is southern brazilian of padanian /german/pole origin which would be impossible to see in PR.
Mato Grosso Northern part inside Amazonia:
I also dont agree with the Southeast being similar to Cuba, Rio de Janeiro seems ok with decades ago. But the rest of the region not all. I always see so many blacks when I see videos of Cuba but thats my personal vision. The rest of the comparation I agree(just Brazil being significantly more pan euro).
