Not really. Tatars look nothing like Mongols, they are closer to Eastern Europeans than Armenians are.

What are real Tartars?

We are talking about Armenians and Tatars (Kazan Tatars) here.

Tatars are much closer to Eastern Slavs (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians) than Armenians are. Tatars and Russians have the same mentality and almost indistinguishable to me.

Modern day tatars have nothing to do with Medieval Mongolic Tatars who lived in Eastern Mongolia, around the lake Buir Nur.

Modern Tatars are over 90% West Eurasian and almost indistinguishable from russians to me.

Tatars are Mongols and as such, quite primitive and undeveloped.

Neither are European but Tatars are genetically more Euro, whilst Armenians are Christian and thus integrate better into old Europe culturally and thus would be more "White" regardless of being west Asian.
