Obama's father is Muslim. Islam is patriliear. If one's father is Muslim, one is Muslim.
Obama's stepfather is Muslim. He grew up in Indonesia where he went to Quran classes. Only Muslim students go to Quran class in Indonesia.
Now he claims he is a Christian. Personally I believe he is an atheist, but doesn't have enough courage to admit this publicly. I think he is secular now, but he definitely grew up as a Muslim, and that's according to his autobiography, not me.
