They will never want to unite with us. The differences are way to big in order for this union to work. Also, we are not that powerful, economically-wise to sustain an even poorer country like Moldova. We are not West Germany. Judging by the lack of a powerful pro-union movement in Moldova and the firm grasp of corrupt politicians there, I don't think that there is any chance of an union. His native language is not russian. I'm pretty sure of this. He's reading a text (which could've and probably has been written by someone else), that is different from speaking spontaneously ... as to his lack of accent (not perfect by the way and neither is his understanding of how russian language works - v sosedne instead of v sosednem gosudarstve) can be explained by the fact that he was born in the USSR and lived more than half of his life in it.

дополнил: я тут википедию посмотрел, таки да, вырос на севере молдавии, по-любому с детства как минимум двуязычным был. И бля, шо характерно: деда в на амур заслали (за что? скорее всего уголовка типа бандитизма с нацподтекстом), а внук судьёй стал. при том же режиме.

Of course the one that works in Russia are pro russian and the one that works in west Europe are pro EU

Taking away Moldova from Russia and pulling it towards the western sphere of influence would be seen as a huge victory for the West, so getting Moldova to join the EU is definitely something on the cards. The biggest obstacle to that that needs to be cleared is the issue with Transnistria. I think if Moldova joins the EU, there would be more funding going into Moldova than other European regions from the EU and to a significantly lesser degree, from the US as well. This would then open up the door to possible integration into Romania. Even though there are Romanians against the unification with Moldova, I feel like most would be for it. At the moment, most Moldovans don't identify as Romanian, but that seems to be decreasing each year.
