Yeah, nothing to do with Alexander's successors founding Hellenic kingdoms at the edge of the Chinese sphere of influence.
It's well known that Greek sculptural techniques flowed into India and China via Buddhism and the trade routes.
I don't know that craftsmen from the Ferghana valley (closest Greek or Greek-influenced spot to China) would actually go to Xianyang (an extremely long travel) for a bunch of clay statues, but it's possible the skill was transferred.
The Tarim basin has been inhabited by Caucasoids or admixed Caucasoid-Mongoloids during the Bronze Age before being supplanted by Mongoloids.
The same pattern happened later on all over Central Asia, with nomadic or semi-nomadic pastoral tribes continuously moving southwestwards.
