Default Most French regions in Chile/Argentina/Brazil

    The following surnames were included:

Bernard, Dubois, Petit, Durand, Leroy, Moreau, Laurent, Lefebvre, Michel, Bertrand, Roux, Vincent, Fournier, Morel, Girard

The following weren't included (because they weren't only French but can also be found in other languages): Martin, Thomas, Robert, Richard, Simon, David.

Oh, that is great. I thought Brazil was more French but I was wrong. Also, I have heard (French Embassy, Wikipedia and a French diplomat) Brazil received 100.000 French immigrants, but we are not so French assuming by the map. I heard some French immigrants had their surnames changed because of errors at Notary's Offices

Yes indeed. I was surprised about Formosa and Misiones.

Still, the Pampean region tends to be the bluest region in these maps, which contrats with Brazil and Chile where the South is usually the bluest (in Chile also Santiago).

Perhaps they're more concentrated in the South? Rio Grande do Sul is pretty high IMO.

It's funny, in this map RGS and SC almost look like an extension of Argentina.

If Uruguay had data it'd probably be mostly blue as well.

I heard many white Uruguayans are of French origin. I think it'd be mostly blue as well.

Who are "french"?. People who are etnic french or people who came from France to America?. Most basque inmigrants in Argentina and Uruguay probably came mostly from France. Then "french" inmigration in Argentina and Uruguay is underrated because many "french" inmigrants didnt have french surnames.
