They are Italians but with foreigner cultural influences thus not fully Italian anymore. However the sons of immigrants that are born outside start to become less Italian. This is my point of view though. When people emigrate become assimilated with the new culture it's a normal thing. It also happened with the Germanic Longobards when they came in Italy. They became latinizated.

Don't you think there are latin-americans with italian heritage that were raised with italian culture and traditions? I knew A LOT in Venezuela, and they were proud of being italians and also venezuelan. If they go to their ancestor's land, they won't feel foreigners, but it matters a lot what the native italians say. Won't you consider them italians or at least agree that they can live there?
