They are noisy and chaotic. They do that kiss on the cheek thing. When they get rich they like to show it off, with lot of bling: fancy clothes, jewelry, cars and mansions. They tend to be more on the extroverted side.

In the words of a Dutch friend of mine: "Southern" means having no structure, "Northern" means not having much humanity.

So I'd guess you have a point. Russians are much more human, less robotic.

I have noticed this on several occasion, they tend to be very obnoxious and rude . But it has nothing to do with being southern, more like a spoiled rat behaviour similar to that of a drunk Brit.
