If the vast majority of Romanians and Moldovans would want unification then it should take place. But if the majority doesn't want it, it would be a bad idea.

Becasue it is thread about Romanians,
I think, this question can be ask here.

Can average Romanian understand other romanic speakers without
knowing their languages and can modern Romanian after deslavizied
rape of language in XIXth century understand some slavic tounge?

Fyrom and Bulgaria is not the same as Romania and R.Moldova.NOTE: It's R.Moldova not Moldavia, Romania already has most of Moldavia, it's just that the upper part was annexed by russians,and later they started to deport romanians from there by hundreds of thousands, and replace with ukraineans.

Moldavians,Muntenians,Ardeleans are of the same Romanian stock.

Now it`s clear. So you want to invade an Ukrainian land and expell the natives from their land. Thank you for your explanation.

Is there any particular reason why they haven't yet?

Because of transnistria, ethnic Russians, ukranians and gagauz brothers... They opose, apparently if it was voted the unify vote could lose because of that.
Also, some Moldovans opose, some politicians too

Edit: Another detail, Moldova is poorer than Romania, if they unify it could mess up Romania's economy... Idk if Romanian folks would want that

Someone commented about Bulgaria-Macedonja having similar interests as Romania-Moldova, well... not really It's a completely different scenario, and I don't want to talk about that particular thing, we had enough Balkan wars..
