I think this is much more accurate question of thread/poll for country such as France.
Because France have really strong Nordish element in Northern-Eastern part of France and Eastern in general, and Celto-Romance/Latin element in rest of the country.
Sure, France is Romance speaking country, but even in French language there is much influence of Gaul (Celtic) element, as well as some Germanic words, but overall it is Romance language.
There is no doubt that France is by linguistc Romance language, but Celto-Germanic component of France is so strong that it cannot be just overlooked.
Sure, Spain also have Iberian, Celto-Iberian, Romance and VisiGothic element.
Italy have more than strong Langobard (Germanic) element in Northern Italy and they are still present there (Romanized) as Italians ofcourse.
But France is truly a 100% HYBRID of Germanic-Celtic-Romance combination IMO, and this is coming from me who loves everything Romance/Latin, so I have no reason what so ever to "invent stuff" for France. What do you think?
And also vote.
