It is a folk song about Brites de Almeida, more commonly known as Padeira de Aljubarrota (the baker-woman of Aljubarrota). According to Portuguese tradition she killed eight Castilian soldiers as they were hiding in her bakery in the town of Aljubarrota after the battle of Aljubarrota (a battle fought between the Kingdom of Portugal and the Crown of Castile).
"Heroína dos enganos,
Foi guerreira sem saber
Martírio dos Castelhanos
Levaram com a pá do forno
E partiram sem retorno
Da terra dos Lusitanos"
