    sorry, this was the first Portuguese video that I found in Youtube lol

    I just make this thread because some people in this forum thought that European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese is very different, and this is not true

    A little different but it depends on the region. It is like American English - European English more or less, I would say. Fully understandable but it is easier for an European Portuguese to understand a Brazilian, not the other way around. Also in that video they are speaking with the standard European Portuguese accent. I am not so sure if a Brazilian would understand this:

    Nope, i have met a couple of portuguese people, when they want to speak not wanting you to understand they can..
    they have their own slangs and vocabulary, but still highly intelligible

    and that video is a brazilian mimicking a portuguese accent..

    And i am afraid our language will never evolve to its own, like latin evolved to all the romance langauges today.

    Internet and globalization will not allow it, but i wish we had our own langauge, it would help building a solid identity.
