Hitler paintings on auction - who buys them?

Hitler paintings are going under the hammer on November 19. The auctioneer Kerstin Weidler told DW why the people wanting to buy them are not all Nazis.

When I first heard that Hitler had been a house painter, I thought it meant he had been a painter and decorator. Just imagine, you pay him to do your bathroom and come home to find it looking like this:

The reason why people who are or were never Nazis want to buy Hitler's paintings is that he was a good painter.No artist who supported himself for ten years by painting street scenes on location and selling them to the tourists can be caiied a failure.
Several talented artists of my acquaintance. are agreed on this point. It would be very interesting to see how these paintings would sell if they were offered under a pseudonym. There is no other way that Hitler's paintings can be evaluated on their own merits.

Hitler is evil criminal for killing innocent civilians of different races. WW2 was caused by Stalin and Bolsheviks, they wanted to conquer the whole Europa and Hitler was seen as savior.by many Europeans. He actually wounded Ussr fatally.

There are thousands of good painters since Hitler made a career change. There is only one Adolf Hitler. It's simply name recognition. Having art work made by one of the most important historical figures of the 20th century is going to attract buyers. He could have drawn stick figures on a napkin and there would be buyers.
