There is nothing good about NATO. It was made against us and to this day is fighting against us. They are surrounding Russia, and Russia has become a conoured bear to join NATO is like hugging your enemy and aitting defeat. Fuck NATO and fuck the EU.

The Russian envoy to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, is quoted as saying:
"Great powers don't join coalitions, they create coalitions. Russia considers itself a great power," although he said that Russia did not rule out membership at some point in the future."

Russian diplomacy doesn't really align with NATO or the rest of the West. They generally oppose interfering in the sovereignty of other states, whereas the West has been more sympathetic to human rights and self-determination. A couple examples of this include Russia's opposition to the independence of Kosovo, and Russia's support of Syria. Russia itself has also faced criticism in regards to human rights and democracy.

Russia is instead active in another alliance, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Russia actually tends to view the Eastern expansion of NATO as a threat to their country, and they were very upset when Bush and others talked about Ukraine and Georgia joining NATO.

I know the current NATO is against Russian interests. But what if NATO reconfigured its alliances to fight Islamic jihad instead of Russia, would you want Russia to join then?
