Why is it so bad that Spanish is becoming more common in the USA?

Latin American countries are well known -at least here- for the strong presence of brainwashing propaganda against gringos and gallegos(spaniards) in their educational policies. The latino kids basically grow up learning to blame those two groups of all their personal and national misfortunes. Its sort of silly, but is just the way they do politics there.

This is why you should not welcome them in your country even if they speak english with a flawless Oxford accent.

The same educational policies have been followed in the U.S. with the blacks, since the 1960's. The resulting bitterness finds an outlet in crime, and the other ways that negroes conduct themselves.

Disliking Mexicans who refuse to learn to speak English, and resenting having to deal with them (they are a common problem), isn't the same thing as disliking the Spanish language.

Maybe Mexicans at USA speaking just Spanish could be a daily annoy for the English spoken people who have to deal with them. But, believe me, a melting-pot is not possible without mutual understanding, and all of those people, once they learn English will be on the way to with your people. Check out a famous Hollywood actor, I do not remember his name (Mat Damon, maybe) , but I clearly remember him dating Jennifer Lopez. But if you prefer to fasten a little the till now sluggish (for other reasons, i know) intermixing process with Amerindian races...is up to yours.

Ps. Here at Spain, number of Spanish retirees dating Latino women is fair relevant. They understand well (even getting paradoxically cheated by them) sweet phrases like "papasito", "mi amol", etc...

Ps2. For Castilian : "papaíto" or "mi amorrrr", of course.

This really is true. Starts at school in "History" classes.

I don't see why the US can't be bilingual like Canada is.

Having signs in other languages doesn't make your country bilingual. If Canada is bilingual, then USA is trilingual. The only part of Canada that is bilingual is Quebec, the remainder of Canada isn't anymore bilingual than USA is.

For the same reason I wouldn’t want english speaking peoples becoming a majority in my country. It’s very natural for them to feel that way, and they should maintain their culture.

Kind of. We're forced to learn French up to grade 9(yes, outside of Quebec). Most people stop there and completely forget though. In the US Spanish isn't mandatory.
