Why is it so bad that Spanish is becoming more common in the USA?

The USA and Serbia are two very different countries. The USA is a country of immigrants whereas Serbia is an ethnocentric state.

I have no problem if Spanish immigrants want to speak Spanish. The problem comes when/if they want to make myself or my eventual children speak Spanish.

I don't think it will come to that, though. There will be effective racial partioning in America, though we will probably have to cede the entire Southwest, including California, to Mexican immigrants. But the English language and American culture will prevail in the rest of the United States.

Personally I don't see a problem with immigrants coming to the USA and choosing Spanish over English. People shouldn't be forced to speak the language the others want them to speak. The USA is a nation of immigrants so it's only natural to see many languages being spoken and not only the language of the entrenched WASP elite. I suppose it would be a different story were it the Spaniards coming from Spain but even then I highly doubt it that it'd be a different story given the WASPs' attitude towards Southern Europeans.

They seem to get around. One high school I went to, near Portland, Oregon, was about 50% Hispanic, and then the middle-school I went to near Seattle was almost that much; I'm pretty far up in the North.
