    I agree. It reaches back into time and make me think of how my forebears spoke as they viewed the world in a way that Romance words don't quite do.

    This just has to do with preference. The funny thing is culturally Germanic people tend to be more straight to the point and Latins tend to be a bit more animated/flair. This has probably translated into the languages. I mean it is kind of like comparing a VW Beetle to a Ferrari. Both have their audiences but it doesn't mean one is better than the other. Some people like more flair and others like more practicality. This is not a bad thing.

    I think everyone will have their preferences and they can be based on culture and whatnot. I lean more toward studying Latin languages so that is where my perspective is. You are Germanic so that is your perspective, nothing wrong with that.
