This just has to do with preference. The funny thing is culturally Germanic people tend to be more straight to the point and Latins tend to be a bit more animated/flair. This has probably translated into the languages. I mean it is kind of like comparing a VW Beetle to a Ferrari. Both have their audiences but it doesn't mean one is better than the other. Some people like more flair and others like more practicality. This is not a bad thing.

There's a lot to know about English. Keep learning. It's a great subject. I'm not sure how much stock I put into the "English is a Scandinavian language" claim that I linked to, but it's no secret that English has a great deal of influence from Scandinavian input as well as French and Latin. The words "they" and "got" and "die" and "take" are all Norse words and these are extremely common English words.
