Genetically, all British are approximately 50% Germanic (the Celtic Britons were themselves partially Germanic).

Appearance; yes, the British do look more like the Irish than north Germans, but it's not a huge difference.

Culturally? That's complex and hard to prove. But I feel the English are about halfway between the Irish and Germans. We do have a lot of rulebook worshippers and the Irish consider us slower to friendship.

    1) You seem to be thinking of our history of football hooliganism. The worst hooligans are now prevented from travelling (try the Russians for this).

    2) Here it is Germans who have a reputation for arrogance when met on holidays in Spain, etc. (I personally have nothing against Germans.)

    3) I cannot relate to that. That's just women isn't it?

I think the British (Irish too) have their own culture and in that way different from germanics. About mentality and "easy going" in my opinion they are the "mediterraneans" of northern Europe.

They're both Celtic and Germanic, and should be seen as such

I'd say the English people are more Germanic than their language is.

Although there is a large % of Latin-derived words in an English dictionary, the average proportion of words in everyday usage of English must be at least 80% Germanic in my estimation.

Yes, the most used words are germanic, like the connectors. If you read my post I am confirming that the most germanic of England is precisely the language, then the culture and lastly the Phenotypes..

Well, in your first post you said: "Language barely germanic (tons of lattin, french influences)"

Regardless of appearance, the British and northern French are genetically the next most Germanic after Germans themselves. Calling us semi-Germanic is fine by me.

    Fixed.

BTW England is not only germanic country, has also strong celtic roots.

Considering social behavior, they are far warmer than us Normans, very kind people. I do not consider this social behavior as close to Meds at all.

Meds are familiar, that's far more different English people are warm socially, helpful, but they won't touch you and talk to you as if you were their bestfriend if they know you for 1 hour unlike south french, spanish or italian people.
