Because they are less violent and less impulsive than eastern euro men and prefer to talk about issues, resolving situation by a smart discussion most of times. French are very tchatty and intellectual thinking / speaking about anything. This is not a cliche. In upper class you can have a debate for what you have chosen to go to Roma instead of Napoli on holidays. Or for what you used oliver oil to cook instead of butter.

Sorry, I only saw the american remake movie.
It's a traditional color of France since the early monarchy. However, I have no idea why blue. I guess a king enjoy the color and it's stay.
Not really, it's pretty rare here. I wasn't know the name was French door. For me it's an american style door.
It probably was some time ago. We are less and less. But for many stuff we are indeed more sophisticates than americans.

France has always suffered from excessive Egyptophilia, for the best (Vivant Denon, Champollion, French pro-Arab foreign policy)...and the worst (we stole one of your Luxor obelisks to garnish our Place de la Concorde in Paris, we wanted to keep the Suez Canal we had constructed for ourselves only, our long "friendship" with Mubarak)...
