A Connecticut lawyer’s new life in Armenia
In 2013, an American man, a Connecticut lawyer named Bruce Matzkin, moved to live in Armenia, married an Armenian woman, adopted two her children, and since then he seems quite happy.
Here is how and what he told about his story.
"I moved to my wife’s beautiful home country of Armenia. In November 2011, while visiting Armenia, I made the monumental decision to move here. I could not really know, a year-and-a-half before the planned move, whether I would get on the plane. I never articulated a thought of changing my mind, but as my departure drew near, the gravity of my decision became so heavy that I wondered if I could. I was moving far from loving family, valued colleagues and dear friends.
In no time after arriving in Tbilisi, Georgia, for a vacation at the Black Sea, and then in Yerevan, Armenia, my despair evaporated. Those who’ve wronged me and my clients — and they know who they are — cannot take away the happiness I’ve found here.
I am writing this in the midst of apple, plum and walnut trees at my in-laws’ summer country house, at peace I haven’t felt in many years, thanks to my choice for a new life in another place and my amazing wife who made it possible. The leaf I’ve turned over is a new attitude, disposition and outlook ... but not new ideals.
And here, in Armenia, I’ve stopped biting my fingernails".

Driving from Yerevan towards and around and along Lake Sevan. Very picturesque lake!
By the way, there on 2.49 (to the right of the road) is my favorite casino in Armenia.
