I know only to some point (I understand much more than am able to produce myself), hard to talk about accents here - it's rather my own.

I had Russian in the primary and middle school, but only in the primary school we had a teacher that was able to teach us something. So only for three years. Later, in the middle school, Russian classes were one of those were kids were acting like barbarians and teachers couldn't handle it - after a semester (or sometimes after two) the teachers were resigning. In the high school I had German, as well as after the high school. So I guess I wouldn't be able to communicate with someone in Russian, I could understand a bit of this and a bit of that, but saying something in this language would require a lot of thinking on vocabulary.

Listening to the music and looking at lyrics with translation helps on vocabulary.

Don't learn Russian. It's harsh, difficult and ugly. It's not worth it. Also don't come to Russia.

We have the old vocative in a number of words. Отче, боже, старче, друже. And we have the new vocative by apocope. Где Ретя? А, так вот он. Реть! Иди сюда!
