That's the problem. You can't just base what afghans look like off of a Google search. Afghanistan is like the Brazil of Eurasia. Most of the country isn't even Pashtun, only 42% is, but once you add Tajiks (a close ethncity), they make up a little over 60% together, still 40% minority.

How do they have nothing in common? They're both largely muslim, being screwed over by the west, but target focuses by ISIS in the "Middle East" right now, and they look much closer to each other than South Italians do to them. Syrians are also culturally closer to Afghans too. Everyone hates on Afghanistan because it seems like a war torn zone, but afghan americans who become a bit westernized fit in well with Syrian americans. I'm not going to be told by some white chick on the internet who didn't even know the existence of Syrians or Pashtuns prior to like 2015 who they're similar and not similar to lol.
