African poverty is man-made. Most of African people’s work and effort end up in Europe and the United States. That’s unfair! What most people in the West don’t know is that their governments continue to collect ransoms from many poor countries until today.
Like Terence McKenna put it “Western civilisation is a loaded gun pointed at the head of this planet.”
It’s with the pointed gun that the West continues to collect ransoms that fill the coffers of the so called developed world.
As a matter of proof, without any threatening enemy, last year alone the West and their allies spent over 64 percent of world military budget. Why? Ultimately to be able to enforce the ransom collection scheme, and preserve their status acquired during colonial periods.
In order to intimidate and enforce the ransoms collection system, the Western nations have set up hundreds of military bases and checkpoints all around the world.
The US alone has over 700 military bases and troops presence around the world, and France has shadowed Africa with military basis, special forces hideouts and foreign legionnaires network.
If a country accepts to pay the ransoms, it becomes a Western protectorate and is considered as a friendly or a not-to-bother country. Any country which refuses to pay the ransom becomes a terrorist, anti-democratic and hostile country which should be dealt with. The height of violence in the world started since the European men got guns and gun powder from the Mongols invasions in the 14th centuries, and discovered that looting is a profitable activity.
The ransoms collection system is managed through the IMF, the World Bank, currency manipulation, the Brettons Woods agreements, debt, illegal fund transfers, seizure of foreign countries’ money like the French colonial tax on 14 African countries, etc.
Nowadays Western Europeans and their descendants own close to 90 percent of the world wealth, while they make less than 10 percent of world population.
For less than 3,5 percent of the world population, America owns 39 percent of the world’s wealth, while Western Europe accounts for another 31 percent of global wealth with a total population less than 6 percent of the world population.
The big question is: Why do Europeans still feel the need to use violence against other populations in the world?
If you are European reading this, please keep in mind that the poor of the world are not less hard workers or less intelligent than the Americans and the Europeans.
Their development is either halted or constantly threatened and compromised by the western economic hitmen or military aggression.
As Samuel Huntington put it in The Clash of Civilisations and the Remaking of World Order:
“The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion, but rather by its superiority in applying organised violence. Westerners often forget this fact, non-Westerners never do.”
We all admire Western civilisation, but for Americans or Europeans to continue enjoying their current lifestyle, their military forces have to invade, occupy, and loot foreign lands, kill or enslave millions of people. Most ordinary Europeans and Americans don’t have any idea of that. They don’t know that!
Unsurprisingly, a recent report came to challenge the well spread idea that the West is pouring money into Africa through aid without receiving much in return. On the contrary, the report proved that Africa has lost up to $1.4 trillion in illicit financial flows to the West from 1980 to 2009. This amount is 233 times the $50 billions foreign “aid” Africa supposedly receives every year from the West. The illicit financial flows involve the transfer of money earned through corruption, bribes, tax evasion, criminal activities and transactions involving contraband goods. The report concluded that those illicit financial flows are fast growing and far exceed money coming into the continent, therefore seriously undermining the continent’s development.
Now let’s be clear, those illicit financial flows are organised by the very same people who claim they come to help build Africa, the same people you and me see and meet everyday in Africa.
They might be your employers, your friends or neighbours but that doesn’t change the nature of who they are and what they are doing.
When I write about these things people think I’m racist or anti-West, this is not the case. I just want to live in a world with justice, where everyone could live from the fruit of their work, and international ransoms and predation would stop. How can we help the Europeans with their violent instinct?
For many centuries, Europeans have sent anthropologists, sociologists, philosophers and scientists around the world to study other populations and make sense of their culture and nature.
