    Off topic end.

I precise (for people): I did not give my opinion, I asked a (neutral) question about the Celtic heritage and the legitimacy of playing this kind of music.
Anyways, this kind of neo-folk music has little to do with ancient music, it's a modern kind of music, so it doesn't matter that much who's playing it.

in Romania the manele Gypsy music is sung by Gypsies, maybe that's what he says - shouldn't be actual Celts playing Celt-inspired music?

but fact is that the Celts left traces in a whole lot of places and you can hear local bagpipe music also in Turkey or Romania in regions where ancient Celts were recorded... it doesn't make them Celtic-wannabe. so I guess this modern 'Celtic'-wannabe metal is not really a topic, it's the band's problem

I don't see a problem. There's quite a few British & German Roman inspired bands with Latin names and Iberians probably have more celtic heritage than British do Roman. Cultures are appropriated all the time, especially if they left a powerful legacy. Hell national cultures are a combination of many especially in West Europe. If we played the appropriation game I don't think any country could win. All are guilty.
Send me dms asking me to classify you, i'll have Barbarianna of Barbaria here put a few holes in you. Then I'll take this guitar and smash it over your head.

Iberians would be one of the most entitled ethnic groups to play "Celtic derived" music, if there is such thing as ethnic groups who are more entitled or not.

There is nothing "wannabe" about it . Otherwise we will have to start saying that everybody who plays a modern acoustic Guitar (probably the most played instrument in the world) is an Iberian wannabe since that instrument is Iberian.

    Traditional Portuguese folk song.
