I never travelled to Bosnia but some of my friends went there to see how it is (they like to visit various countries, so do I but I didn't go with them that time) and they told me that Sarajevo (capital of Bosnia) has almost same vibe (churches aside) as Istanbul, and btw they visited Istanbul as well.

In the end ask Bosniaks here.
That's the Stari Grad (Old town) part. This part is traditional, in Ottoman architecture. Centar, Novi Grad, Novo Sarajevo are communist and post-communist architecture. But yes, tourists usually visit "Baščaršija" where is the pure Ottoman architecture. Turks are coming there as well.

I've been to Sarajevo, I know that it is not small actually. But when you compare with Istanbul.. I guess I don't even need to finish this sentence.
By the way I don't think that Sarajevo can enter top 5 of Turkey by extent of city. Probably it would be between 5-10.

I think that can pass in top 5, maybe as 5th (if you look all segments of town).

As I've said before, considering genetics (AUTOSOMAL DNA) Bosniaks are closest to Croats (along with Hungarians), but considering culture they're far closer to Turks. By customs, culture, food, etc...

And also it needs to be said that Bosniaks are pushing that cultural similarity to Turkey as far as they can, especially after the war, but ofcourse I respect their feelings.

P.S. Before war, Bosniaks were greatest Yugoslavs of all, not many people knows this, but they loved Yugoslavia the most and didn't even care for Islam, but they became greater turks than turks themselves (considering culture) over the night during the war.

Just one example; Croats and Slovenians hated Yugoslavia OPENLY even in 1990, but Bosniaks believed in Yugoslavia all the way until 1992, till the very end they were greatest Yugoslavs.

They are far closer to the Balkan Turks than any other population.
