Hey people, I want to know what cultural similarities Greece and Turkey shares, except of the few foods you use to post, the tsifteteli dance and some oriental influences in music.

Cyprus but you didn't include it in the poll.

Cyprus first for me. Then, I feel we may have some affinities to some Italians, Montenegrins and people from coastal Dalmatia (who partly descend from Roman citizens), some western Turks and our dear pseudo-Macedonians.
Concerning West Med countries, although I like them, whatever bonds us is either very ancient and distant or very recent and mostly political. And there are political ties with all European countries.

What about America, almost everything in Greece is Americanized.
That's modern Greece.

What exactly does Greece share with Turkey besides Baklava and Kebab? (Which is also shared with many other countries). I feel like a lot of people only mention Turkey in these things because they falsely believe that Turkey is most European like non-European country. Armenia, Georgia, and even Azerbaijan are more European than Turkey is in a lot of ways.
You even said Turkey is closer to Pakistan culturally than to Greece, yet now you think Turkey is one of the culturally closest nations to Greece.

There is no difference between Western Turks and other Turks. A lot of peogle falsely believe that Western Turks look like Greeks and are like Greeks. They are still muslim like the rest of their country, they still speak the same langauge as the rest of their country, they still genetically cluster with the rest of their country, not with Greeks. They still practice Central Asian Turkic culture, not Greek culture. They don't look like Greeks, they look like other Anatolians. The West Turkish divide only exists in people's heads
