you can check the names on Facebook - some of those on the list are not rare at all. plus, a whole lot of Romanians have animal surnames, very very popular, but not necessarily funny (some are articulated, others not, for example the common name is THE Bear (Ursu), but in case of the fox, it s simply Fox (Vulpe)) :
