In the USA it's quite difficult to buy good European olive oil at a good price. I buy the olive oil directly from a farmer in Italy and it costs between 10 and 15 euro per liter. But I only use the highest quality oil I can get and in my family we never buy olive oil at a grocery store.

There are different types of olive oil, and it depends on what type of olive trees are used.

Good point. I never really interested myself into olive trees because they can't be grown where I live, but of course just like with any other crop and especially fruit trees there are a lot of different varieties/cultivars. I guess that probably matters more than the actual country of origin.

Portuguese - Spanish - Italian

I've never seen greek Azeite

for evident reason I know the italian olive oil but there are many quality ....it mean not all olive oil from italy is good ...be careful, and it's valid for Spain and Greece too.
