Default Are Old sculptures and modern phenotypes comparable ?

For example, the Empress of Rome - Poppaea Sabina - wife of Nero - had been reddish blond with light skin, and she was beautiful. Maybe she had been kind of Italo-Celtic.

There are just a few sculptures of her in a good condition - not destroyed. An we cannot be sure, that the artist made her sculpture exactly (similar) to her true phenotype.

and any artist made a modern sculpture of her - true or not true according to her original phenotype

Do you think, the sculptures of her and the paintings of her are similar to modern Italians ?

(I think it is possible to compare, but the result should not be overrated ............ )

It's even hard to classify with photos, let alone sculptures.

I agree - but we dont have much paintings of ancient persons that are more than 2.000 years old. We have sculptures that are 3.000 years old - up to ~5.000? years (Egypt).
