Exactly. Which proves that men are just as interested in their appearance as women, if not even more sometimes. Some women take forever to get ready to go somewhere because they want to be PERFECT. Men are just as concerned about how they look.

Me, on the other hand, I don't even own a full-length mirror.

Men are concerned about their appearance,especially in this day and age.Even if it mean a man knows and thinks he is ugly,it is still a form of concern for your appearance.

The ideal women is one who cares about her appearance, but not excessively. They are a dying breed. Nowadays, you have two choices: a slob in sweatpants who hasn't washed her hair in two weeks or a vapid makeup artist who won't set foot out of the house without a 4-hour paint job.

Men (most of them) and the media have conned girls/women into believing that they aren't worth any attention if they aren't 'done up'.

Everyinr cares more or less and you want them too. I m pretty sure you wouldn't go with a woman with super bushy eyebrows , slightly hairy upperlip and kind of fat with ugly clothing. In fact you mighy call her an ugly feminist , regardless if she is or not.
To me everything done in moderation in life is okay. So is taking care of yourself , man or woman.

they care in most part and men too but probably a little less
the difference about men depend by generation
big part of this influence depend by women freedom and media influence ...men in western countries are those who care more abou their look and it is the same place where women have more power and freedom 'to choose
now women have more liberty and freedom so they can decide what they want after media taught them ( men too ) what they must want :-p
