Ior Bock is dead.



On 23 October 2010, Bock was stabbed to death in his apartment in Helsinki. Police arrested two foreign male suspects (aged 19 and 28), who had shared his apartment and worked as his personal assistants.

A major theme in the poetry and prose of his story is that the ancient fertility-culture had some ideals very different from the ones introduced by the religions of the Middle Ages. One common heathen tradition was that of drinking the "divine vine" or the "water of wisdom", which literally refers to the male sperm and the female sap (ejaculate). According to the saga the pagan traditions were based on a naturalistic philosophy, where it was regarded a virtue to "save and not spill ones semen or female ejaculate". This could be done by sharing the liquids in a "69" or by practicing autofellatio - which the family-saga names sauna-solmu. The Finnish expression for this "sacred vines" would be Viisauden Vesi--the water of wisdom, which in other traditions are known under cryptic terms such as "The Water of Life", "The Seeds of Life", "The Nectar of The Gods" or "The Elixir of the Blessed".

While the men would learn how to "curl up" in a "sauna-knot" and drink directly from their "clubs", the women would normally ingest their mahla, female ejaculation, with a straw. According to the Bock Saga this used to be a collective tradition amongst men and women, where "heart-friends" (of the same sex) would share each others liquids as a special favor and sacrament, to enhance their respective fertility and vitalize their neurologic energy. The saga claims that within the heathen cultures this recycling of sperm and sap was obligatory at the age of 7, when it was combined with yoga exercises.

They were his "personal assistants". They probably also did stuff like this with him, then word got out to the other foreigners...and they had to kill him.

That crossed my mind too, but would someone planning to euthanise himself choose being stabbing to death as the preferred method?

Well, according to today's news feed the perpetrators are two young men from India. My bet is that they came to the conclusion that Bock was a false guru, and therefore decided to drop him down a few rungs on the ladder towards nirvana.

Police say he was stabbed to death in his apartment in Helsinki’s Munkkiniemi district on Saturday. Two foreign men who shared his home and served as his assistants have been detained. The motive for the crime remains unclear.

The daily Helsingin Sanomat reports that murder followed some sort of dispute with the men, aged 18 and 28, who had lived with him for about two years.

Bock was partly paralysed following a previous attack in 1999, when he was stabbed by a male companion.

Bock, originally named Bror Svedlin, began his career as an actor. He became near-legendary as a story-telling tour guide on the fortress island of Suomenlinna for nearly a quarter century, beginning in 1968. He later gained a minor worldwide cult following for his eccentric philosophical and historical theories.

In 1987 he convinced several companies to fund excavations in Sipoo at a site which he claimed to be the location of the temple of Lemminkäinen, a character from the national epic, The Kalevala.

No, even though the mining company of the same name lent them some heavy equipment as an advertising stunt. All the gold in the world discovered before the Ice Age is supposed to be down there anbd whatnot.
