Ireland was one of the poorest nations in Europe when it was part of the UK with the biggest population decline of any population ever in relatively recent history in Europe. Under the EU it has become one of the most competitive and richest nations in Europe with a population that is steadily rising. Why was Ireland such a mess under the UK and the majority of Irish now are very willing and happy to stay in the EU no matter what Britain does?
People that bleat about "freedom" don't know what they are talking about. Was Ireland free under the UK? If Ireland wants to leave the EU there is nothing stopping them.
The reason why Ireland has so much investment from places like the US is due to Ireland being a member of the EU. This wouldn't happen if Ireland was not in the EU.

No it's a matter of honor and dignity. Being under the English that subdued them is a disgrace, while the EU invited them and they chose to join for mutual benefits. It's not asskissing it's realizing what is good for you and settling with a solid plan, being a part of the EU as a sovereign nation. Ireland doesn't have goals to become an empire so there's nothing to be lost, just wins to be made.

First off, I gave you probably the greatest compliment ever given you Irish cuck, take it and shush with the whining.
Have your excuses ready, but I know too much to fall for it. Gaelic has been tried to be brought back all over but it keeps failing because the youth are cucks, they have settled with speaking english so they won't change.

This is a bit simplistic. A big block has to have some uniform rules to run; people that think the EU is equivalent to the USSR don't know what they are talking about. Why are you so anti-EU and do you really believe Ireland would be better under the UK? An example is what has been discussed here already. Northern Ireland wanted to remain part of the EU, as well as the Scots, but because England voted out these countries lost their voice. The Republic of Ireland has complete say in what they want and in fact everything in Ireland is decided by a public referendum. This was how it was decided to introduce divorce and things like gay marriage. The Irish public had a vote on this. Not many countries have such a say in what happens in their country.

Look at my country.
We broke away from Britain, but we didn't ask to be ruled by France, did we?
Maybe it would have benefited us in the short run and we could say "But they give us aid". But we didn't because dignity is worth far more.
EU is good for continental countries, but it does, as a matter of fact, reduce sovereignty greatly. I don't think Ireland would do better under the UK necessarily, if anything the Irish are of a higher moral character now than British unfortunately. But there's no reason for them to so eagerly put themselves under the EU yoke.

A lot of young people have grown up in a prosperous Ireland and English is their first language. They are far removed from the problems of the past and Irish identity has changed a great deal. The Irish now are a much more confident people and it is only the older people have memories of the Ireland of the past. All Irish children have to learn Irish in school and public servants have to speak it. It is never going to be the same as it was in the past. It doesn't mean Irish are "cucks" though. The Irish language declined during the Great Famine and it is only in areas of the Gaeltacht that people speak it daily and as a first language.
