You remember when the Simpsons were still a good show and the episodes were new. I only remember the same good old episodes being broadcast on our television when they were years old (episodes from the early 90s in the late 90s).

Relative to us, Eastern Europe lagged even more behind.

I remember 2004 when I first spoke to a Lithuanian online and he was overly excited at finally being able to speak to people from different countries with this newest invention, the internet. A déjà-vu for myself in 1998.

I know I sound like a stereotypical 'Dutchling' who obsesses too much about Anglo cultures. Ah well. It's our curse I guess.

The Simpsons isn't terrible now. And it's impressive its ratings are still high enough to be on for nearly 30 years.
But I would definitely say the golden age was the 90s

Interesting... generation theory is culture specific... for example in China, due to the One Child policy they had in 1979, they have a whole unique generation born out of that policy, of single children who act like spoiled brats, and are more individualistic contrary to their collectivist parents.

What is intersting for my generation (Husáks Children) is that we are break-generation. We became adult what the Iron Curtain fallen down (or couple years after). We learned both - Russian and English language, too. Older generations learned just Russian, younger ones, just English. Before 1990 people usually get married and started family very soon - girls after finishing the school and boys after finishing their military service. Also in this case we are the break generation - half of my classmates started family very soon, another half (includes me) just before or after their 30.
