Default Iberian ancestry (early Aragonese, then from all Spain) in Southern Italy and Sardinia?

Iberians (either Aragonese and then from all Spain) rulled many parts of Italy from the late XIII century until the mid XVIII century, such time under Aragonese and Spanish/Habsburg rule must have let some Iberian genetic impact?

I believe some Catalans settled in the city of Alghero. Not to sure about any genetic impact, I don’t think there was any comprehensive study regarding Spanish impact on the islands genetics.

About half of the actual people of Alghero (L'Alguer in Catalan, S'Alighera in Sardinian) have Catalan ancestors, Back then in XIVth century the city was totally emptied of the native inhabitants which were replaced by colonists from Catalonia. The inhabitants often have a quite distinctive look. 1/3 of the city population still speaks an archaic version of Catalan.

I have not seen any evidence of Spanish DNA in Sicily based on haplogroups nor autosomal, though there is shared DNA among all South Europeans.
