we had a terrible relationship with his regime, we almost went to war with chile in 78, and he sided with the english in 82, but I guess that in economic aspect his regime was much succsecful that other rigth wing regimes of the time.
Nevertheless, in the 80 Chile sufered a deep economic recesion, and many chilenians inmegrated to Argentina.

My favorite Chilean songwriter is Victor Jara, killed by Pinochet's soldiers, shortly after the coup d'Etat, in september 1973. What was his crime ? He was just a leftist. Henry Kissinger and the US were behind the whole affair.
