I have traced a few of my german lineages (I have predominantly german heritage on both sides) back to the Middle Ages, around 1300 - they were predominantly from the South and Rhineland/Hesse. Strangely, although I only have one half-English great grnadparent, I traced his English lineage back to 1100, to the name De Swyllington. I can’t find much on my Italian ancestors, but I’m doing the research.
