Yakuts were long thought as original Turks but this can be discussed.
They immigrated north during 12th century as a result of Mongolian pressure (Liao, Karakhitay etc.).

Their language isn't pure Turkic, it's uncommon due to heavy Mongolic, Tungusic and Samoyedic influences.
You must think of original Turks as more like Altaians or Tuvinians. It's also in that area the Turkic ethnogenesis happened.
Altaians speak a purer Turkic.

Altaians also hold the original Tengrist religion, while Sakhas/Yakuts are more animistic influenced too in their paganism as a result of intermingling with Samoyedic people.

It's like a snowball the situation of Turks until here.
Oghuz Turks were proto-Turks + west Central Asians.
Anatolian Turks are Oghuz with native Anatolian influences.
