    Default Jamaican-sounding Irish accent?

2:00 onward. Tralee, county Kerry in southwest Ireland. Not all Irish sound like this, but the southwest (Cork, Kerry) definitely are said to sound like Jamaican or Barbadian.

They sound Jamaican, except without the African influence.

Woman from 1:01 on probably sounds the most Caribbean-like of all. This is due to all of the Irish indentured servants and people expelled to Jamaica and Barbados.

I don't mean Jamaican Patois. I mean when Jamaicans speak English with an accent.

There is no West African speaking in English who will sound Jamaican. Their accents are very much influenced by Ireland. It even says so on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamaican_English

From what I understand, Jamaican English is a descendant of Hiberno-English, but both have diverged far from their last common ancestor

Most Carib English dialects are heavily influenced by Hiberno-English. The African American dialect also. Good evidence for this, is the existance of the habitual tense, which used to exist in Irish english, but has since died off.

It is not suprising that some Irish may sound like Jamaicans.

You mean saying things like "He done killed her" instead of "He killed her", or saying "She be scared" instead of "She's scared"?

Habitual means that it is something that happens, but not neccesarily right at the moment. For example, "He be 'ballin", means that the urban youth in question is a 'basketball' player, but he isnt neccesarily playin' right now.
