i too have a greatgrandfather (my maternal grandfather's father) that was a white pale Dominican that was blue'd and blond hair but he was from Puerto Plata (Northern DR) but he was Dominican, how far back? idk but they say he was of Austurian & Catalan origin (his ancestors) rest of my family goes back since the beginning and likely 1680-1750 from canarian migration of the "tributo de sangre" that im positive you have ancestors from them due to that on both your family's side
and about the jamaicans, theyr different but not racially, theyr different in terms of their African origin AND European origin, as well as them having a Indian and Chinese component at 25% of their overall population in terms of ancestry, around 25% of Jamaicans have Asian ancestry to different degrees as well as Taino, their Euro component is in over 90%+ of their population but their African is predominant obviously. Dominicans i find that our African is very exotic, idk much jamaicans that can fit in Africa but DR's yes definitely, iv seen Dominicans that look like nothing but a Ghanaian or a Nigerian or senegambian, including my ex Dominican gf who looked straight up like an Angolan chick that i knew that is from the rural tribes and not from the city, pure ssa no admixture angolan, but jamaicans look like a different type a black due to having more than 5 mixes, similarly cubans blacks also are extremely exotic as well as their white, but u never see an exotic white DR due to a pure white euro pop in DR that is non-existant
