Mormonism

I find this a interesting religion. I wont google but as far as I know it originated in america based on christian bible and principles but there was a american prophet who wrote the book of mormon. The mormons can have many wifes I think. And they are mostly white. They used to be or are still racist, they thought exterminating the american indians was given them by God, and that America was given them as holy land by God similar as Jews believe about Israel. Is anyone a Mormon and what does it mean to be a Mormon nowadays?

Mormon is allegedly a prophet-historian, who was the native American believed by Mormons to have written the Book of Mormon, the main religious text of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The first forty years of Mormonism involved plural marriage, now, the modern view is that, polygamy is unacceptable, which seems to be a revelation brought about by the illegality of polygamy.

Mormons deserve praise for their good works, but God is not a tool to be used by human institutions to promote survival and good feelings. Of course, mainstream Christians make the same mistake, but it's especially pervasive in the LDS church. God is after your heart. It's not about how many children you have or what pleasures you abstain from. God is love and He keeps no record of wrongs.
