    This song is very sloooow:

    Spanish translation:
    Pase lo que pase
    yo estoy aquí
    pase lo que pase
    espero por ti
    Vuelve en el viento
    Oh mi amor
    vuelve deprisa
    por favor
Hace cuanto tiempo me he olvidado
porque no estuve a tu lado
    Cada momento es peor
    vuelve en el viento
    por favor

    Lo sé, lo sé
    quién eres para mí
    pase lo que pase
    vuelve a mí.

    Original Portuguese lyric:
    Haja o que houver
    Eu estou aqui
    Haja o que houver
    Espero por ti
    Volta no vento
    O meu amor
    Volta depressa
    Por favor
    Ha quanto tempo
    Ja esqueci
    Porque fiquei
    Longe de ti
    Cada momento
    E pior
    Volta no vento
    Por favor

    Eu sei, eu sei
    Quem es para mim
    Haja o que houver
    Espero por ti

I learnt Spanish a few years ago. I'm now very fluent and to me, Portuguese is really the easiest language. It's true that I've made some efforts to perfect my Portuguese but when you're Spanish-speaker, it's extremely simple. You just have to master some rules : on = ăo, oy = ou, e = ei...

Portuguese. Lack of r's throws me off far more than all your weird vowel combinations stacked together. Same issue with French.

Brazilians seem like they're speaking some African language with a Italian accent and Haitian slang. Sometimes it is truly impossible to understand them. Sometimes I even believe they can't even understand themselves. Portuguese has lots of short vowels but at least they can say every consonant right and use less retarded slangs.

Are you talking spoken or written? I agree that written is very easy once you learn spanish, but spoken is another story.

Portugese sounds...um, kinda like Slavic. European Spanish sounds somewhat like a mix between Greek and Italian together.

I'm not a native Spanish speaker (I didn't learn until I was around 14 years old) and for me it's easier to understand written Portuguese rather than spoken. I probably understand a little over half of what's said, but I understand most of what's written, minus a few words.

Written, of course, and once you get used to the Portuguese pronunciation/accent, it becomes quite easy.

Brazilian dialect is faaaar easier for me to understand, I have to focus extra hard when a Portuguese fellow speaks to me in their language.

FWIW I've had Latinos tell me they didn't understand when I spoke Spanish and had to slow down (also guess hearing speaking with distinción can be jarring if you're not used to it), lmao so it goes both ways.
