For some reason, I came across this old thread and decided to add more input to it.

You should take the paper horoscopes with a grain of salt.
I work in a publishing company and in all magazines and newspaper we publish, the horoscopes are written by simple columnists such as myself.

They either copy/paste from the internet or write them off the top of their heads so they're always inaccurate.

It costs too much to hire "real" astrologers to do the job, and even at that, you never know who's really talented and who's an impostor

I've always had my suspicions in this regard, and I'm sceptical about who the "true" astrologers are as well. If they start bringing asteroids or any other such rubbish into the equation, because they can't find any answers within the planets and aspects first, then I would just laugh at them.

I believe in the field of Astrology, but not in the way it is presented to the layman.

Astrology is a combination of science and mathematics, and once upon a time it tied in with the constellations. To some degree it still does because you can still pinpoint the constellations in the sky at certain times of the year. Of those planets you can see with the naked eye, you can find them within that constellation.

It is a field of high metaphysical/apocryphal value. I've been reading a relevant book by Madame Blavatsky that offers extremely interesting data as to how planetary positions and movements influence the human psyche.

I'm no expert on Jung, but this type of study was of his expertise also. He related the planetary movements as more of archetypes, how we see that within our psyche, and from that perspective it makes sense.

I was wondering about the Chinese Zodiac? This seems to be the new trend on the West coast U.S.

The elements are divided into two yearly lots. We have metal which are in the years ending with 0 and 1, water in the years ending with 2 and 3, wood in the years ending with 4 and 5, fire in the years ending with 6 and 7, and earth in the years ending with 8 and 9. As for each sign, they return every 12 years in accordance to the 12 animals that Buddha gave them to.

I know that I'm going to be pedantic here, but your rising sign is either Cancer or Leo. It can't ever be both. House rulership cusps just don't work that way, and regardless of the settings you use to determine the house charts.

Sun, Mercury and Saturn are in Aquarius, in the cusp of the 7th-8th houses (Houses of Libra and Scorpio).

In traditional house rulerships, that would be right. However, the time of birth determines the various rulerships. So in your chart, I assume you are a Cancer rising and therefore, your 7th house ruler is Saturn over the sign of Capricorn, where your Saturn is well dignified by the term of accidental dignity. There is even the possibility of you being a Leo rising (and you strike me as being more so) with an intercepted chart (meaning two signs don't have a house allotment) that could have Aquarius allotted over both the 7th and 8th houses. It's not uncommon for those born in the northern latitudes to have such charts. I even know roughly what time you're born because of where your sun is placed but I won't get into that.

@ Lars, don't call what you don't know retarded. Healthy scepticism is natural, but basing that sort of opinion due to lack of knowledge just doesn't cut the mustard.
