Interestingly, the Germans which came over in the 1950's or before via Namibia speak German mixed with Afrikaans words.

Klippe - German: cliff, Afrikaans: stone
Pad - German: word doesn't exist, Afrikaans: road

It depends on the Englishism. German in Africa hasn't evolved the same way as German in Germany. I learnt English from my mom and grandmother who left Germany in 1955.
