    It was "Ulysses" which convinced me that James Joyce must have HATED the English language. The way he mangled and mistreated it in this, and, admittedly, other writings is disgraceful. He ought to have written in Irish Gaelic if he so hated the
    language of the "damned Sassenach"

    I've read half way through it years ago and still have the book marked where i left it. Never picked it up since. It was going nowhere for me, the most overrrated book in history perhaps. And yes his style of writing is kinda of annoying trying to be irish and complex at the same time. There's a word somwhere in that book literally half page long.
    Now that being said can someone who read it explain the book to me?
