    Default Armenian Emperors of Byzantium

    Armeno-Assyroid rulers of Byzantium

-Heraclius (Latin: Flavius Heraclius Augustus, Greek: Φλάβιος Ἡράκλειος' c. 575 – February 11, 641) was the Emperor of the Byzantine (Eastern Roman) Empire from 610 to 641. Heraclius was the eldest son of Heraclius the Elder and Epiphania, of an Armenian family from Cappadocia

-Mizizios (Greek: Μιζίζιος; Armenian: Մժէժ, Mžēž or Mzhezh)[a] was an Armenian who served as a general of Byzantium, later usurping the Byzantine throne in Sicily from 668 to 669.

-Philippikos or Philippicus (Greek: Φιλιππικός) was Emperor of the Byzantine Empire from 711 to 713. Philippicus was originally named Bardanes (Greek: Βαρδάνης, Vardanis; Armenian: Վարդան, Vardan); he was the son of the patrician Nikephorus, who was of Armenian extraction from an Armenian colony in Pergamum.

-Artavasdos or Artabasdos (Greek: Ἀρταύασδος or Ἀρτάβασδος, from Armenian: Արտավազդ, Artavazd, Ardavazt), Latinized as Artabasdus, was a Byzantine general of Armenian descent who seized the throne from June 741 or 742 until November 743.

-Leo V the Armenian (Greek: Λέων ὁ ἐξ Ἀρμενίας, Leōn ho ex Armenias; 775 – 25 December 820) was Emperor of the Byzantine Empire from 813 to 820. Leo was the son of the patrician Bardas, who was of Armenian descent (according to Theophanes Continuatus, Leo was also of 'Assyrian', that is Syrian, descent).

-Romanos I Lekapenos or Lakapenos (Greek: Ρωμανός Α΄ Λακαπηνός, Rōmanos I Lakapēnos; c. 870 – June 15, 948), Latinized as Romanus I Lecapenus, was an Armenian who became a Byzantine naval commander and reigned as Byzantine Emperor from 920 until his deposition on December 16, 944.

-John I Tzimiskes (Greek: Ἰωάννης Α΄ Τζιμισκής, Iōánnēs I Tzimiskēs; c. 925 – 10 January 976) was the senior Byzantine Emperor from 11 December 969 to 10 January 976. John I Tzimiskes was born into the Kourkouas clan, a family of Armenian origin.

Greeks then are proud they created in Byzantium a caste system where Armenians were lower class but there were exceptions though even STRONG exceptions LOL

Because you are so fucking stupid, you don't even know how to make research:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mizizios

Mizizios (Greek: Μιζίζιος; Armenian: Մժէժ, Mžēž or Mzhezh)[a] was an Armenian noble who served as a general of Byzantium, later usurping the Byzantine throne in Sicily from 668 to 669.
The only problem is that the Byzantine throne was not in Sicily but in Constantinople, which means that he was never a true emperor, just a usurper...

Do you want me to take a look on the rest of the list???

You post the thread to make the Greeks look bad because you think that the Armenians are dark and stupid people which in reality that they are very civilized, kind, and intelligent people who kicked your cousins in Azerbaijan in the 90's. Armenians actually love Greeks because they have cultural and historical ties to one another, and that they both share the same blood hatred against your kind for killing millions of their peoples in cold blood.

İts not bad to be Armenian but how Greek reacts here it's like this is a shame. Greeks here pose Byzantium as pure Hellenic empire and start arguing with us about Ottomans. Ottomans were Turkish in language and dynasty as all 36 emperors descended from a single Turkmen guy called Osman and with 623 years it was longest dynasty in history. Byzantium just had a Hellenic language and emperors didnt have dynasty and from very different ethnic origins.

During the middle centuries of Byzantium, from 610 to 1071, the Armenian populace served as an important source of manpower, and individuals of Armenian descent rose to the highest dignities in the Byzantine Empire as generals, politicians, patriarchs, intellectuals, and even emperors. Some of the most famous and important Byzantines in history had Armenian blood, including Emperor Heraclius (r. 610-641), who saved Byzantium from the perilous Persian onslaught in the seventh century, and Photios (r. 858-867, 877-886), the most famous medieval Patriarch of Constantinople.[2] Armenian immigrants and Byzantines of Armenian descent constituted one of the key factors behind the longevity of the Byzantine Empire, positively impacting Byzantium in the fields of demographics, the military, imperial rule, economics, intellectualism, and religion.

The rise to prominence of the Armenians, starting at the end of the sixth century, constituted one of the most important changes in Byzantine ethno-demographics. Between the end of the sixth century and the Battle of Manzikert in 1071, the Armenians became the largest non-Greek ethnicity in the Byzantine Empire. Before examining any of the conditions created by their presence in the empire, it is first important to understand how the Armenians became Byzantium’s largest minority.
