    Default mtDNA V. Y-DNA

The University I go to has DNA testing facilities Ive been meaning to just go in, voluntary and give it a go. I went today after the exam and apparently if you want both doing they will charge you $200, as opposed to the $50 they've been advertising to attract people.

So which would be more beneficial for myself?

y-dna is much more interesting, since mtDNA is pretty much the same in all European countries

Depends what you want to get out of getting your DNA tested
Overall since you're a male you should prob get the Y-DNA first. Save up for mtDNA later.
There'll be no diversity if we end up burning in the Melting pot...

I found my mtDNA most interesting, as it's fairly rare everywhere, while my Y-DNA is quite common in west and central Europe.
