Mainland Greeks are genetically no different to Albania and are not like Sicilians.

You are wrong about that.
They are genetically different from Albania.

Also,they may overlapp with Albanians also but that aside Greek Mainlanders as a whole are never closer to Albanians than to Greek Islanders.

Because you are always implying that Greek Islanders are identical to Sicilians and using this as an argument to split them from Mainlanders claiming Greek Mainlanders to be different and identical to Albanians.

In fact i can tell you that Greek Mainlanders and Islanders are very close to each other and similar.
Either one of the two things you are claiming must be wrong therefore.

1)Either Greek Islanders are not identical with Sicilians

or

2)Greek Mainlanders are not identical with Albanians.

Both can never apply at the same time since Greek Mainlanders and Islanders are closely related.

They may have some genetic variation but they are not two distinct ethinicities.

Arbereshe in Sicily live in their own towns and barely mixed with the native population. If they did, they would not have their own identity today.

Still they are Sicilian.

I think if you would ask an Arbereshe person in the Streets where he comes from he would say he is Sicilian not Albanian.
If you would ask him further about his particular background only than he would say he is Arbereshe.

Thats the difference
Homeland or national identity are not exactly the same with ethnic or tribal background.
I'm sure that most Arbereshe see Sicily as their homeland and not Albania.
Though they see themselfes as Abereshe concerning their ethnic\tribal background.

In the same way a Grecano person from Salento would see himself as Italian but as Greek concerning
his particular ancestry/tribe ethnicity.

Grecano=Greek Italian
Arbereshe=Albanian Italian/Sicilian

Greeks
Vlach=Vlachic Greek
Arvanitis=Albanian Greek
Greek speaking Greek=Greek Greek or Hellenic Greek.

Sicilian,Greek Mainlander or Greek Islander are not ethnicities or tribal identities.

Arbereshe,Arvanitis,Vlach,Hellenes,Roma"Gypsy",Ita lian are ethnic tribal identities.
