Default Latin American Gedmatch Averages (nMonte_

Looking around the internet, I found this really cool tool called nMonte. It lets you model Gedmatch values as a mix of certain populations, kind of like the mixed-mode on Gedmatch but much more detailed.

I'll make another thread with people's individual Gedmatch results.

I used Eurogenes K15, because I already had an average for the PRs I found on Gedmatch. I modelled the average as a mix of the populations listed in the table below. More can be added, but I felt doing it like this (Spaniards/a few other Euros + West African + Native) yielded the best results for Latinos. I like this method because it takes a lot of the guess work out things.

    Categories used in charts below:

    85%+ Caucasian = White
    70-85% Caucasian = Castizo/Light Pardo
    <70% Caucasian = Mestizo/Dark Pardo

    Argentines

Best fits for various groupings of Argentines (All, Whites, Castizos and Mestizos)

Predictably, but still very interestingly, Argentines have a more diverse Caucasoid background than Puerto Ricans.

@Argentano: I pulled the average from the first page of your thread, so please correct me if I'm wrong. It'd be really interesting to have results for other people as well if you want to post them in this thread.

Best fit for White Argentine Average:

Predictably, but still very interestingly, White Argentines have a more diverse Caucasoid background than Puerto Ricans:

45.15%, Iberian, 36.2% Italian, 8.3% Northern European, and 4.45% Sephardic
    5.6% Native
    0.3% West African
Excelent, i have 140 Argentines right now. Can you make the 4 charts? Total, white , castizo, mestizo

This actually makes a lot of sense. PR almost entirely spanish. Argentina being a mix between spain, Italy and some northern euro/jewish

I just added the averages for all those groups to my original Argentine post!

I decided to replace Sephardic with Basque because it wasn't unquestionably European and was leading to some strange results. Most of that % seems to have gone to Southern Italian, with the rest going into Spanish categories.

very interesting. Makes sense that the whites have several euro ancestries and that mestizos just have spanish ancestry.

Are this results automatic or are you forcing them?

I just edited my Puerto Rican entry to include a breakdown by admixture as well. Interesting to compare.

I input the values from k15 into the program and then it gives me the best fit. I chose only to include Spaniards/a few other Euros, Natives and West Africans as reference groups but other than that it is totally automatic.

For the averages, I used the average for all Argentines/Puerto Ricans instead of averaging each category.
